Committees
Key provisions concerning committees have been outlined in the draft governance framework, but not all are decided.
Statutory committees
Legislation outlines that there will be provision for three statutory committees: investigating, fitness to practise and appeals.
Non-statutory committees
It is advised that:
- non-statutory committees be kept to a minimum
- there be no education committee
- the Appointments Commission will ensure that the Council includes at least one member with the competency to chair each of the audit and remuneration committees
- the Board of Examiners of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) be carried forward to the GPhC as an arm's length body, in order to provide robust quality assurance
- the Appointments Committee will select, appoint and, where appropriate, terminate the appointments of the statutory committees, the Board of Examiners, and non-Council members of standing and non-statutory committees.
Standing Orders
The following standing orders for non statutory committees have been approved by the Council designate and will be ratified once the Council has legal status.
