Restoring the pharmacy’s registration

If you want to reopen a pharmacy and it’s been less than 12 months since it was last registered, it’s straightforward to re-register with us.

It’s a legal requirement to register your pharmacy with us. To reopen a pharmacy less than 12 months since it was last registered, you’ll need to complete a pharmacy premises restoration application form.

If the pharmacy premises hasn’t been registered for more than 12 months, you can complete a new premises registration form.

Completing your application

Make sure you read the guidance that comes with the application form before submitting your application. This will help you to provide all the information we need in the correct format.

As part of your application, you’ll need to complete an assessment to show how you will meet the standards for registered pharmacies from the first day your pharmacy is open.

If you plan to operate a pharmacy service over the internet, you’ll also need to show us how you propose to meet our guidance for registered pharmacies providing pharmacy services online.
