Q. How is the pharmacy profession being involved in the changes?

Q. How is the pharmacy profession being involved in the changes?

A. As recommended by the Lord Carter of Coles’ Working Party, the Department of Health set up a Pharmacy Regulation and Leadership Oversight Group (PRLOG) to ensure the effective delivery of plans to establish the new regulator. PRLOG has a broad membership of 21 people from across the pharmacy profession.

A number of statutory and non-statutory consultations (see below) have been, and will continue to be, held during the run-up to establishment in 2010. with widespread publicity to ensure as many professionals as possible get involved and give their views. PRLOG held its last formal meeting on 5th November 2009, but it will continue to remain as a reference group for the Chair and the Chief Executive designate of the GPhC.
