A. The RPSGB already works closely with NCAS, and in the future, it is anticipated that the GPhC will continue this close working relationship and be involved in the development of criteria for referral to the regulator in cases where the fitness to practise of an individual is in question. A Memorandum of Understanding is a good way to define the relationship between the GPhC and NCAS, but this will be a matter for the GPhC once established.

A. In order to be a truly patient focused regulator, with the ability to anticipate and respond quickly to change, the GPhC will work co-operatively and collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders. It will need to manage proactively a network of stakeholders, including professional bodies, patients and public, consumer groups, employers in all sectors, organisations representing pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working in particular sectors, higher education institutes, trade unions, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and devolved administrations. The Pharmacy Order places a statutory duty on the regulator to consult and co-operate when exercising its functions to reflect these needs.
