There are more details about applying to register as a pharmacist on the GPhC website, where you can download the application guidance.
To register as a pharmacist with a recognised UK qualification you will need to successfully complete, within the time limits set out in the criteria to register as a pharmacist:
You can start your application once you have completed week 49 of your pre-registration training, and you will be able to submit your application before you know your assessment result.
You should submit your online application and hard copy supporting documents at least three weeks before the date you want to join the register – which will be on the first or the fifteenth day of the month.
To apply to register you will need to:
If your application is incorrect, incomplete or does not have all the supporting documents, it will be delayed. Please prepare your documents in good time as some must be certified by a solicitor or commissioner for oaths.
Although we do give submission deadlines in the application guidance, we can’t provide a guarantee that you will be able to join the register on the date you plan to. This is because we need to review the information you send us to see if we need to make further enquiries or request more information, for example if you have made a fitness to practice declaration.
You must also meet all the registration criteria, including having completed 52 weeks of training, before your application can be approved.See the application guidance for more information on completing your application.
Important: Do not practise as a pharmacist until you have received your GPhC registration number and your name appears on the online register. Your first-year fee payment receipt is not proof of your registration. Practising as a pharmacist while not on the register is breaking the law and you can be prosecuted.
