Consultation on draft standards for registered pharmacies closes

‘Modernising pharmacy regulation: A consultation on the draft standards for registered pharmacies’ -  the largest consultation that we have undertaken since we were created as the independent regulator - closed on Monday 7 May

During the 13-week formal consultation period, we sought views from a wide range of individuals and organisations including patients and the public, pharmacy professionals including owners and superintendent pharmacists, professional and representative bodies.

We held over 30 meetings with stakeholders right across Great Britain, in addition to launching the consultation with specific events in England, Wales and in Scotland.

Over 4700 people looked at the consultation online at the dedicated website and we received well over 200 responses via our online response form, by email and by post.

We are busy collating and analysing all those responses and the feedback we collected from the consultation events and meetings we ran and attended. The GPhC’s governing council will consider a report of the responses before it finalises the new standards for registered pharmacies later in the year.
