There has been an increase in the proportion of pharmacists who are from a black or minority ethnic background or who are female, but a fall in the number of pharmacists who qualified overseas, according to a new analysis of the register of pharmacists in Great Britain.

The governing council of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) has approved the organisation’s response to the Law Commissions' consultation on the regulation of health care professionals.
Pre-registration trainees must apply for the registration assessment in June by 5pm on Friday 18 May 2012 at the latest. Candidates who miss this deadline will have to wait until the Autumn assessment as there is no longer an option to pay a late entry fee.
‘Modernising pharmacy regulation: A consultation on the draft standards for registered pharmacies’ - the largest consultation that we have undertaken since we were created as the independent regulator - closed on Monday 7 May.
