During October and November we held the first meetings of our sounding boards, to inform the development of our new inspection model, in England, Scotland, and Wales.
The following determination (outcome) has been handed down by the General Pharmaceutical Council’s Fitness to Practise Committee this week.
The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is to make a number of improvements to the way it governs its fitness to practise proceedings, its statutory committees, the advisers to those committees and the evidence of identity required during the registration process. The GPhC’s Council approved these changes at its meeting yesterday (15 November) after considering the outcomes of a consultation that was held earlier this year.
MSPs were able to find out more about how over 170,000 registered health and social care professionals in Scotland are regulated, and how this protects patients and the public, at an event held in the Scottish Parliament on 14 November.
We have laid out our Strategic plan for 2013-2016 to both Westminster and Scottish parliaments.
Today (31 October) is the deadline for registration renewals for three quarters of the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians on the register in Great Britain.
The results from the first analysis of all pharmacy technicians in Great Britain have been published today (26 October) by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
