Pharmacy Inspector

We are looking for a Pharmacy Inspector to inspect premises in our Scotland and Northern England region, including: Borders, Dumfries and Galloway, Lanarkshire, Cumbria and Northumberland.

Salary: £42,640- £49,400 pa + benefits

Location: Homebased (covering areas of Scotland and Norther England, as described)

The role

The Pharmacy Inspector will maintain a programme of high-quality inspections of registered pharmacy premises through monitoring, supporting and enforcing compliance in line with GPhC standards. The Inspector will also provide recommendations to the registrar on the suitability for registration of new pharmacies and undertake investigations of concerns raised about a registrant’s fitness to practise, as well as assisting the Investigation and Case Management team with their cases.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a pharmacist or pharmacy technician with substantial recent experience of delivery of pharmacy services, preferably in a community or hospital environment. 
  • Have a solid understanding of the GPhC’s statutory responsibilities, relevant legislative frameworks, and operational standards and a good understanding of the challenges facing retail community pharmacies. 
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills; have the drive to work independently and be a team player.
