Policy Officer (Standards)

We are looking for a Policy Officer to work within our Policy (Standards) team and play a key role in the development of both professional and systems regulatory standards and policy development.

The role

The Policy Officer will contribute to policy development within the GPhC, working within our Policy and Standards team which has responsibility for both professional and systems regulatory standards and policy development. Working effectively with operational colleagues, the post holder will be required to contribute to policy workstreams across a variety of regulatory areas.

The successful applicant will:

  • Assist in the design, development and delivery of policies in line with the GPhC's strategic aims and objectives.
  • Undertake high quality desk-based research and analysis to support policy creation and progression.
  • Liaise with teams across the organisation, including the Data and Insight team and other operational teams, to ensure sound evidence is collated and operational considerations are reviewed to enhance the coordination and delivery of policy work.
  • Support the development of regulatory standards, including stakeholder engagement.
  • Possess a good understanding of the principles of policy making, including experience of undertaking desk-based research and analysis in order to prepare high quality policy documents.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communications skills and be able to work independently, prioritise effectively and work to deadlines.
  • Ideally be a graduate (or have equivalent experience) and should be able to demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the demands of working within a statutory framework, regulatory or similar environment.
