Don’t miss your chance to be heard
There’s still time to give us your views on three important consultations, which close soon- please respond now and make sure your views are heard.
Initial education and training standards of pharmacy technicians
There is just under a week left to respond to our consultation on the new standards that all pharmacy technicians applying for registration must meet- please don’t miss your opportunity to help shape the new standards.
With the standards, we aim to strike a balance between educating pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians to deliver the current core role, while also equipping them with the knowledge and skills to develop and respond to the future demands of users and commissioners of pharmacy services.
We are also seeking feedback on changes we are considering to the criteria for registration as a pharmacy technician, including about the supervision of trainee pharmacy technicians, and automatic ability to register as pharmacy technicians for pharmacists.

Religion, personal values and beliefs in pharmacy practice
We want to know your views on the proposed wording about personal values and beliefs in the new standards for pharmacy professionals, due to come into effect in 2017 and about the guidance on the behaviours expected of pharmacy professionals in applying the standards.
The proposals would change the expectations of pharmacy professionals when their religion, personal values or beliefs might, in certain circumstances, impact on their ability to provide services, and shift the balance in favour of the needs and rights of the person in their care. This consultation closes on 7 March 2017 so please make sure you respond before then.

Consultation on revised threshold criteria
Our threshold criteria help the GPhC to determine whether a fitness to practise case should be referred to the Investigating Committee and provide a framework to ensure proportionate, fair and consistent decisions are made across all investigations. We are consulting on revised criteria and want to hear your views before the consultation closes on 6 March 2017.
This consultation is part of a wider programme of reviewing all of the GPhC’s statutory decision-making guidance, which aims to support good decision-making at all stages of the fitness to practise process, to make the process as clear and understandable as possible.
