The role
The principal function of the Board is to maintain the standard and integrity of the registration assessment and ensure that it continues to reflect contemporary practice.
- The remit of the board is to:
- Ensure that registration assessment papers are reliable and valid;
- Set and maintain an appropriate standard;
- Agree results and ensure accuracy of reporting;
- Report to the GPhC’s Council on the performance of candidates and papers
- Advise the GPhC on the development of the registration assessment.
The appointment will be for four years in the first instance. The position is renumerated, and expenses are paid in line with the GPhC’s Associates and Partners expenses policy. Members will be expected to devote a minimum of 20 days to the role each year (this is a combination of meetings during weekdays and preparation work to be completed in your own time).

Please note the successful applicant is invited to the Board of Assessors meetings in December 2024 to observe as part of their induction into the role. These meetings will be held on Tuesday 3rd December 10.00 – 16.00 virtually and on Tuesday 10th December 10.00 – 16.00 in person at the GPhC offices in London. All travel, accommodation and time will be reimbursed as per the GPhC policies. It is not mandatory to be available for these on application to the role and availability will not be considered by the recruitment team, but please try to be available for these meetings if you are the successful applicant.
