We have eight committees that play an important role in our work.
We have three statutory committees that investigate and decide on the fitness to practise of pharmacy professionals, and conduct registration appeals. These committees were established by the Pharmacy Order.
We also have five non-statutory committees which look at activities such as business and financial planning, audits and risk management.

This committee investigates cases where a person’s fitness to practise may be affected and decides whether to refer it to the Fitness to Practise Committee for a full hearing.
This committee considers appeals about applications for registration and registration status. It cannot consider appeals of decisions which are not listed in article 39 of the Pharmacy Order.
This committee makes decisions in cases where a pharmacist or pharmacy technician’s fitness to practise may be impaired because of poor conduct, professional performance or health.
The list comprises details of the persons who are eligible to serve on one or more statutory committees.

This committee is responsible for selecting and recruiting statutory committee members.
This committee assesses our efficiency and effectiveness, including overseeing business and financial planning.
The Workforce Committee provides advice to the Council on payment for our Council members, staff and other people who work for us.
The Audit and Risk Committee supports our Council by reviewing internal and external audits and risk management and internal control arrangements.
The Council has established the Quality and Performance Assurance Committee (QPAC) to support the Council by overseeing and monitoring the measurement and management of quality and performance across the range of the Council’s activities, to enable the Council to carry out its oversight responsibilities.
