Celebrating the contributions of women across pharmacy and healthcare

The GPhC celebrates the contributions of women across pharmacy to mark International Women’s Day.

Gisela Abbam, GPhC Chair, said:

“On this International Women's Day, I am honoured to celebrate the remarkable contributions of women across pharmacy and healthcare. Today, we recognise the achievements of female pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who have dedicated their lives to improving patient care, advancing medical research, and fostering innovation.

“Women in pharmacy have been at the forefront of driving change. Their resilience, compassion, and expertise have been instrumental in shaping the future of healthcare.

“As we reflect on the progress made, we must also acknowledge the challenges that remain. It is our collective responsibility to continue promoting gender equality and creating an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued.

“On behalf of the GPhC Council, I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the women across pharmacy who inspire us daily as well as the men who are focused on promoting and supporting women, and to reaffirm our commitment to empowering the next generation of female leaders in pharmacy.

“Thank you for your dedication and hard work. Together, we can achieve a more equitable and inclusive future for all.”
