Inspecting registered pharmacies
Our main job is to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of people who use services provided by pharmacy professionals or from registered pharmacies.
One of the ways we do this is by setting the standards for registered pharmacies in Great Britain; and by inspecting pharmacy premises to assess if they are meeting these standards. In this way, we provide assurance to patients and the public that they will receive safe and effective care.
Our approach to pharmacy inspections is also intended to help pharmacies improve their systems and services, the quality of care and the outcomes for patients and the public using their services.
