Results from September registration assessment announced

We are pleased to announce the names of the 481 pre-registration trainee pharmacists who passed their registration assessment in September.

There were 825 candidates who sat our registration assessment on 28th September 2017. 481candidates passed the assessment, a pass rate of 58.3%.

There were 325 candidates who sat the assessment for the first time, 446 for the second time and 54 for the third time.

Pre-registration trainee pharmacists are permitted three attempts at the registration assessment.

This year’s pass rate of 58.3% compares with 40.76% in September 2016, 64% in September 2015 and 61% in September 2014. 

GPhC Chief Executive Duncan Rudkin said:

“Many congratulations to all the trainees who passed this September’s registration assessment; I would like to wish them all the best for their future careers. I also want to acknowledge the tutors, and education and training providers for their hard work in helping trainees to reach this milestone.

“From the first day on our register, pharmacists play an integral role in supporting the health of their patients. The registration assessment helps to make sure that candidates have – and are able to demonstrate – the knowledge and skills to meet this important responsibility.”

  • The pass rates for the papers were - Part 1 – 76% and Part 2 – 64.7% respectively

September 2017  Pass mark per paper

  • The pass mark for part 1 is 27/40
  • The pass mark for part 2 is 86/119- one question was removed
